Quinoidal rylenes or aromatic pyrenacenes? We report the facile synthesis of several bis-peri-dinaphtho-rylenes via a simple radical-mediated coupling approach and their unique electronic structure. The paper is Just published in Angewandte Chemie and selected as a Hot Paper. Congratulations to Shen Tong!
