Prof. Jishan Wu (吴继善) received his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Wuhan University (1997), M.Sc. degree from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2000, under the supervision of Xianghong Wang and Fosong Wang), and Ph.D. degree from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (2004, with Klaus Müllen). He then conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Los Angeles (2005–2007, with Sir Fraser Stoddart) before joining the Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore (NUS) as an Assistant Professor in 2007. He was promoted to Full Professor in 2017 and is currently the Provost’s Chair Professor.

In recent years, his group has carried out extensive research on open-shell singlet diradicaloids, 3D global aromaticity, and topological molecular carbons. He has published over 380 papers (H index: 91) and received more than 25 awards/honours, including the Singapore Young Scientist Award (2011), NUS Young Researcher Award (2012), NRF Investigatorship (2019), Andrews Lectureship (2024), Yoshida Prize (2025) and Outstanding PhD Advisor Award (2025).
